Dr. Paul Burger is a
graduate in history and philosophy of the University of Basel, Switzerland. He
holds a Ph.D in philosophy. “Habilitation” in philosophy and a full professor
within the University of Basel since 2001, dr. Paul Burger held scientific
positions at the universities of Basel, Lucerne, Hamburg, Marburg, St. Gallen,
Fribourg and Innsbruck.
Dr. Burger was appointed
head of education programs between 1998 and 2005 and is currently head of a
program in sustainability research, within the Department of Social Science and
Philosophy, at the University of Basel, Switzerland.
Professor Burger is the
author of books and numerous articles related to foundations of sustainability,
interdisciplinary education for sustainability, types of knowledge production
in sustainability science, values in sustainability issues, human-nature relations,
instruments to scientifically investigate the future.
